CPU incompatibility, help plz

Hello,
i just upgraded my p4 to intel quad core Q8300 with the same mobo that is ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS. but later i found that my Q8300 is not listed in my mobos cpu support lis. do i need to worry abt this?? my pc is working fine until now. but CPU-Z shows my current clock 2000 Mhz, but my Q8300 is 2.5 Ghz.. plz help

WHY CUDNT U JUST GET A Q8200, anyway, it seems to b able to run pretty much every other quad, so i would say ur safe, ccpus underclock when they are not in full use so i wudnt worry about the clock

i don't know how to overclock, i am new to overclocking.... i heard that overclocking is risky sometimes.. thanks for ur help folks... so i don't need to worry at all??

hey xaira thanks for ur help... ya i am seeing 4 graphs.. bios also shows my cpu correct.. cpu-Z also shows it. by the way what do u think abt my processor...

its a quad at 45nm, yorkfield, its a good performer, but i dont like the priceing, other than that, its gr8

ya the price is quit high.... but no option. because in my city i dont even get a Q8400...lol.. & if i go for amd then i have to change mobo, out of budget....thanks for ur help... keep in touch.....

hey guys finally i contact asus and they said it's just an oversight, now my mobo's cpu support list shows my Q8300.....Hurreeyyyy.......
