My computer has stopped working and I don't have a lot of free time to figure out what's wrong and fix it. I'll be coming into some money at the beginning of June when I get my summer stipend. I've been thinking about upgrading and just replacing some of the parts. I'm sure that my case/hard drive/PSU are fine.

My Current Build:
MB GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L 775 P43 RT
VGA SAPPHIRE 100242L HD4850 512M RT
MEM 2X2G|MUSHKIN 996587 R
PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-650TX 650W RT
CPU INTEL|C2D E8400 3G 775 45N R
HD WESTERN DIGITAL 750 GB

I'll probably have $300-$500 for an upgrade. What do you guys think? Upgrade or try and replace the faulty component? I'm thinking about changing out the cpu, mb, ram, and adding a 4850 for Crossfire.

If your really that slack take it to a computer shop and get them to find out whats wrong with it, the cost will still save you money compared to buying a CPU, MB and RAM.

Then you could replace the component, if its a motherboard then get one with XFire and XFire your 4850. If it isn't a motherboard then get a new graphics card, 5770?, or just leave it how it is.
