I just performed the windows experience check, and the lowest rating(5.9) was for my hard drive, im suspecting it is running at sata 2 instead of sata 3.

How do i check if that is true?
And if so, how do i fix it?

I have a gigabyte GA Z77-D3H MOBO

my next lowest raiting is 7.7 so thats why im concerned with this

All hard drives that run at 7200 RPM will have roughly have 5.9 WEI. Besides WEI is not an accurate measurement.

It is a hard drive, unless you have a 10000rpm it will bring up the score.

Hard Drives will not max out a SATA 2 connection.

You have to run 2 x 10,000 RPM Velociraptors in RAID 0 to crack a 5.9 WEI with mechanical drives and that will get you a huge 6.1. You want higher get an SSD. My 2 year old Vertex 2 scores a 7.7 although as said above WEI is an almost useless benchmark.
