can i use one as memory or ram and be connected to each other while online. if so what do i need to do this. one is toshiba m35x the gateway is mx3225both run xp home w/i gb mem installed by me

I'm sorry, but I don’t understand your question. It sounds like you want to establish communications between two laptops over the Internet (or at least two laptops USING the Internet). But memory/ram has no bearing on the ability of those two laptops to communication. Absolutely none. So it's confusing.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

If you want connect both PC to use one as memroy RAM and the other as PC, no, u can't.

Okay instead of buying an external memory,can i us one pc just for memory?

^No, you can't. Both laptops are independent and have their OS. If you want more RAM, you need install this inside of the laptop, not externally or with another laptop.
