Driver Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a laptop (acer 5935g) it has a GT130M in it, I tried downloading the new driver for the gpu from the nvidia website and it just says I need to install the one supplied by the vendor (acer) but is there a way round this because acer never update the graphics driver and would like to be able to use the latest nvidia driver if possible

I'm running windows 7 64bit
