I have a new i7-930 home built PC with the following configuration:

1) i7-930
2) Gigabyte ud3r
3) 6 gb ram
4) Western digital HD
5) Xigmateck dark knight hsf
6) 700W OCZ modxtream

The PC boots normally but after 15 min or so reboots on its on. I have tried re-installing the heat sink but that didn't help much. The temperatures shown on gigabytes temperature sensor software are below 30C. After running prime 95 for 10 mins it rose to 43C.

Suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

It reboots on its own without anything special happening just before the reboot. On the gigabyte's software for hardware monitor, the temperature stays stable around 30C before the reboot. But something is very confusing for my RAM:

1. When I purchased my RAM sticks it was quoted as 9-9-9-20 (on amazon.com) for OCZ 6GB 1333 MHz kit. The sticks have a sticker of 9-9-9 on them.

2. The default values on the SPD in CPUz is 533 MHz with 7-7-7-16. When I set the timing settings to auto in BIOS it uses 7-7-7-16 at 1066 MHz.

3. When i ran memtest86+ it was displaying the memory as PC3-8500.

I have tried using 9-9-9-20, 9-9-9-24 and 9-9-9-22 at 1066 Mhz, and 8-8-8-18 at 800 MHz. None of them worked. I'm worried now coz' memtest showed no errors on the memory and it it isn't memory then then I don't know how to findout which one is a buggy component. What could be the possible reason for the PC to run properly for 10-20 mins and then reboot without anything changing (even when I leave it open w/o anything except windows running in the background).

BTW I have a 6 Gbps HDD and have used Gigabytes GSATA port to connect to it. I had to use some AHCI option instead of IDE for it to be read when I powered it up for the first time.

Thanks
