Samsung 2493 & Sapphire Radeon 5770 Not Compatible

I just had a new system built. I bought a Sapphire Radeon 5770 video card. I am not a gamer so I didn’t go for the more power oriented cards.

I have a Samsung SynchMaster 2493HM monitor. Using an HDMI cable I get a beautiful picture.

The 2493HM is a rotate from landscape to portrait mode monitor. This is particularly useful when viewing records and fields in a database.

The rotation option is achieved with two programs, ‘Magic Tune” and “Magic Rotate.”

Unfortunately, they do not rotate the monitor in Windows 7.The Samsung rep told me that the monitor is not compatible with the video card and had the arrogance to tell me to get a new video card.

My question:

Are the monitor and video card physically incompatible or has Samsung just not bothered to develop a new driver for the card? Please note that the rotate function worked just fine with a four year old Radeon All-in-Wonder 2006.

I would say that Samsung is not up to speed.
