Why not try out the Athlon II X4 ? The Athlon and the Phenoms dont differ much in general performance...Just check this review...you would get what am trying to say...

I agree with gkay's suggestion regarding the Athlon II, however I just wanted to point out something that the casual observer may fail to notice in that review - the Phenom II is underclocked to 2.6GHz.

Here's the AnandTech CPU Bench comparison of them, sometimes the Phenom II whens by a fair amount, but quite often it is very close, and in many cases the Athlon II actually wins out! This is even in spite of the Athlon II running at 2.9GHz.

ok taking you suggestions, but where can i find a good to change the memory in the bios. neither my dad or i knows how to overclock or mess around in the bios comfartabely enough.
