I am buying a new rig and require a GPU that provides decent performance on 1024x768 resolution in todays games for e.g Cryostasis, Farcry 2 Etc. and is future-proof. DX 11 is an added bonus(this is the first time i am upgrading my PC since 2004.) I probably wont need anything higher than that ;)
now i am confused between the 5670 and the 9800GT. I will use either of them on a DG41RQ with PDC e6300. will it bottleneck or something or it will be fine. Sensible answers are appreciated.
Thank you

As mentioned the 9800gt will be a little more powerful than the 5670, but you get DX11 with the 5670. However, Look at this option.(hopefully you are in the US to take advantage). If you have a PSU that can handle a 9800GT then you can run a 5750, which only consumes slightly more power than a 5670. The 5670 and 9800GT seem to be around $100. Here is a 5750 with free shipping, instant $10 off, and $15 promo code, making it $120. BEST suggestion I can give you. What is your budget and PSU that you will be using?

Aw Dang!! i live in pakistan and i know all about newegg. Pity it does not supply anywhere outside north america. Budget is at max Rs.8500 which is around $100. PSU is 450 watts and around 40amps on the +12volts. Will it bottleneck on my board (DG41RQ with PDC E6300) and Dx10 cards can run Dx11 games or no??!!!

450W and 40A will run a 5750/5770 no problem. Your PSU should have a 6 pin PCI-E power cable, if I am correct.(it should with that rating) Honestly if you can go with either one of those you would be much better off. The 5770 is an awesome card with nice OC abilities. The 5750 is it's little brother that is still very good. Your board supports PCI-E x16 so you will be fine. Sure your video card will see a bottleneck, but every system is full of bottleneck, you can't get around them. You will see more of one with an older core2, but I think a 5700 series card is a good choice for you if you can swing it with your budget. I have a buddy that has an e6400 and HD5770 and it runs most games maxed out on a 1280x1024 screen. the 5670 really isn't a great value unless you have a small power supply and you want to maximize your dollar. In your case, to maximize your dollar and performance, get a card that will use your PSU. Here in the US the difference between a 5670/1GB and 5750 is about $30. And $40-$50 to the 5770 depending on the model.

What site would you order from? link us and we can help you if you wish.

DX10 cards can NOT run DX11 games in DX11 mode, they would play them at whatever the next step down is. Some games are DX9,10,&11 in which case it would run at DX10. However, some games are DX9 and DX11, in which case it would run at DX9. ALSO, you need to have VISTA or Windows7 to run DX10 or DX11 (DX11 in vista needs SP2).

Will the 5670 have compatibility issues because i read a post in some thread on tom's that 5670 is PCIe2.1 meaning it is compatible with PCIe3.0 when it will arrive so it is having isuues with backward compatibility. Is this true? what about my MB does it apply to it too???
