Hello,
I've got a x58 system with 6GB of RAM installed. Control-panel system is reporting the correct amount 6GB RAM and the same is Resource-moniter. but 3rd part software (CPU-Z/E-LEET TUNING) are reporting 8GB of RAM.
It's crazy I'm not sure what is going on. The system is stabel and I'm not having any problems, but I just can't understand why CPU-Z is reporting wrong? can anyone help out please?

does cpu z still show 3 sticks installed when you check the SPD tab? under all slots?

It is a interesting reading error, but i doubt it will cause issues.

Check your instructions to make sure the sticks are in the correct slots for 3 sticks installed. I know on gigabyte X58 boards it is(from the cpu socket side) empty slot, stick, empty slot, stick, empty slot, stick.

Also, that is a nice overclock, what are your settings(voltage ect) and cooling setup. Never got past 3.8 on stock voltage.

ok that is strange, SPD is showing that i have a 2GB RAM in slot1/2/3/4, I know that is wrong. I have in slot1/3/5.

cooling setup is watercooling only cpu and 2 gpu.
vocre is at 1.4, i know it is a bit high but i need it to stabil my oc @4210.5Mhz.
CPU VTT 1.35
CPU PLL 1.65
DRAM VOl 1.65
QPI PLL 1.3
IOH vcore 1.25
ICH vcore 1.1

all my temps are low THRM 35/CPU 35/system 38/VREG 50

Can you try the memory in slot 2,4 and 6? see if it works better. It almost seems like a bios read issue or something. CPU-Z gets its info from the bios.

If it does not appear to windows as 8GB, there will be no stability issues(imagine windows trying to use memory that is not there.). so in the end you can just as well leave it if you wish. maybe e-mail the mb makers to let them know of this glitch.
