Hi All,
I am a previous owner of a Fujitsu laptop. This laptop did not ship with a
CD for the OS (WinXP). I found this very annoying. Instead it comes with a
"partition". Problem is that once I backed up the entire physical drive with
Ghost 2003 and when I wrote the image back, the Drive Image SE software said
it could not find the partition (as if somehow the original partitiion had
some type of protection???). I could restore the factory image only when
booting with a floppy/cd-rom meaning that the factory image was still ok. I
have a couple of questions:
1) Has anyone experienced this, or confirm that these computers have
something in the partition which once copied or backed up will not be the
same when written back?
2) Is there a software that can successfully back up the entire physical
drive and not cause such a problem?
3) Has anyone heard if Fujitsu or other laptop makers will begin to sell
computers again that ship with Factory CDs or DVDs.
The thing I hate most is if I lose my hard-drive (eg crash or physical
damage), how do I get my OS back???
