Keep my Phenom 9750 or swap with Athlon II X4 630?

My buddy just recently built himself a new computer so gave me the Athlon II X4 630. I currently have a Phenom 9750 so I wondering if it would be worth my trouble to swap CPU.

I’m running Windows 7 32bit. And I mainly use my computer for HD video and light gaming.

What do you guys this?

oh nice. im swaping asap. thanks!

The difference between the two is simple.

1) Power usage. All Phenom I processors had defective Cool & quiet, so they used more power at idle. Not a huge difference, but notable.

2) Overclocking. Phenom II processors overclock further. Maxing out at about 4 GHZ to the Phenom I 3.2 Ghz.

However, if your only running these chips at stock, the difference in speed and power will be fairly small. But the 630 is a little faster. About 15% faster.

I would do it IF your an overclocker. I don't think its worth the trouble at stock.
