Hello, I recently tried to build my first computer system. I read a lot of posts on here, as well as did my own research. My issue is I wasn't sure if a 750w or 650w power supply was necessary for my build. I ended up purchasing the 650w power supply (by accident actually), and now I'm not sure if I should open it and attempt to use it, or return it (Newegg won't charge me the 15% restock fee if I do this).

Here is my build:

intel i7 930 $213.99
eVGA GTX 260 $199.99
WD Caviar Black 500gb HD $59.99
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R $199.99
ASUS dvd burner $22.99
GSkill 6gb ddr3 $169.99
Corsair 650w PSU $89.99
ANTEC 900 case $90.94

Will a Corsair 650w PSU be a good choice? Or should I return it and get a 750w PSU?

Another thing to consider, if in a few years I decide to use:

a higher single graphics card such as 1 GTX280 or 1 Radeon 5850

I decide to overclock the CPU, GPU, or both

will the Corsair 650w be able to handle it?

Thank you very much for your input and support. Take care. :)

A Corsair 650W should be the bare minimum, with 2 260GTX's I would say get at least a 750 or even an 820W because the 260's like their power aplenty.

The 650W will be plenty for your current build. However, if you plan to add a second 260, you will need 4 pci-e connectors (your 650 TX only has two).

Ah, thank you sk1939 and jbaker. I changed my post a bit. I'm not sure if I would realistically go SLi.

Would a 650W be enough for just a single card upgrade like GTX280 or HD5870, nearing the higher end (futureproof)?

Also, would overclocking CPU or GPU (or both) be possible with a Corsair 650W?
In this case, I probably wouldn't overclock too much, as I don't wish to cause any harm to my components.

Thank you very much in advance for your support and generousity!

Yes, you will be fine with a single 5870 and an overclocked 930 with your power supply.
