SAPPHIRE HD 5770

Here is my specs.

ASUS M2N MX SE
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
2gig ddr2
250 gig hd
650w psu
hd 5770

All the games I play such as Grid and SCII, it will be really smooth for a while and then MAJOR lag and goes through the cycle.

What is wrong?? Is my cpu too slow?
I thought HD 5770 would cover everything....

Please help!!

Check your temperatures on the CPU. It could be that during the time it is playing smooth, the CPU is heating up, and when you witness the slowdown, is when the computer is slowing down the CPU in response to dangerous heat.
