Hello, i recently got the fbi moneypak ransomware virus and after i did scans and got rid of it, my audio stopped working and the driver was messed up. So i uninstalled the broken driver which was SoundMax Intergrated Digital Audio and try to install a driver from dell's website, but it won't install or tells me i'm missing a ADI codec. I'm running on a Dell Optiplex 280.

check out this, I found it on the US Dell Support site looking at the drivers page for your Optiplex

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/optiplex-gx280?driverId=VDY44&osCode=ww1&fileId=2731108842

apparently this is tool that looks for broken drivers and tries to repair them, hope it works for you.

also try redownloading the audio driver here

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/optiplex-gx280?driverId=MV02H&osCode=ww1&fileId=2731091828

Ran the tool and it complete, did a restart. Tried to reinstall the audio driver, it installed then restarted. Then got a error saying no ADI codec driver is installed.

Not sure what to do about that one.
