Hey Yall,
I have to get a new psu, I bought a bluestar 650w.....very dissapointing. It tripps under a load from my new ati4870.(which supposedly only needs 500w) I paid $30, what a waste. Now I am trying to educate myself while buying the cheapest thing i can. I found an Antec TruePower 750W PSU. It is new and I'm bidding on it now. Just wanted some input on:
-Is this thing worth a crap(I know nothing bout name brands)
-Does it really power out as much as it says
-What would be the most you'd pay for it
Most of the reviews I read said it was good, but that doesn't mean any thing to me. I want a thumbs up or down,

Is that Antec TruePower 750W PSU a TruePower NEW 750W PSU? If yes, its about as far above in average quality as that Bluestar 650W is below average quality. It's actually an excellent PSU and will power TWO 4870s in your system. Antec Truepower New 750W @ JonnyGuru
You can actually get a good 500-550W power supply. Even some of the better 400-450W PSUs will run your system with a HD 4870 - thats how bad that Bluestar 650W PSU is. OCZ ModXStream Pro 500 $60 and $20 rebate is a good quality PSU at a great price. Examples: Corsair 550VX $70 and $10 rebate is an excellent PSU at a fair price.

I'll 3rd the Antec, Antec and Corsair are my favorites (out of experience) though I am looking into the sparkle PSU's, they're just so darn pretty
