According to the info Acer lists for that model, its max memory is 4GB. That being said, there is nothing in the BIOS of a typical notebook that is going to help.

When you installed 8GB, did the BIOS report 6GB or did Windows report 6GB? Also, what version of Windows are you using??

Hi
I have an Acer 6935G with a Core 2 Duo P8600 on a PM45 Motherboard.
I am running on Windows 7 Pro x64, with the 1.20 Bios version.

I have just updated my ram and I confirm that 8GB DOES NOT WORK (the PC does turn on but only displays a black screen and doesn't respond at all, not even to the power button).

However, a duo 4+2 GB of RAM WORKS.

I used the original DDR3 RAM (a brand called "Elpida"), and added a G.Skill 4GB ram. Both are DDR3 PC8500 CL7.
