hi,
I currently have 6GB in my system it's a set 2/2/2 triple channel. If I put in another single 2GB stick of the same speed would I see much performance increase? or any issues given the my current setup is a triple channel set?

Solution
You wouldn't see much (if any) increase and may actually see a decrease in overall performance since you would no longer be in a tri-channel config. To maintain the 3 channels, you need to keep matched sets in place. That means you go with 3GB or 6GB or 9GB or 12GB, etc, via 3 or 6 DIMM combinations.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Guess I won't be upgrading for a bit. I was thinking of running a virtual machine alongside my OS and thought I could use a bit more memory.
