Hello,
. The processor speed has increase tremendously for the last 10 years. Discuss about the
speed of different processors and explain why there is a need for the increment of
processor speed at this rate.

Easy, you have your desktop and server processors. For desktop processors, the answer is simple, the faster the processor, the faster you can do things. I am guessing that this is for a class. So I will leave some for the imagination.

Be careful, there are two ways to measure "speed"

1: How "fast" a processer runs (measured in Hz)
2: How many CPU instructions the CPU can perform in a single clock cycle (Instructions per Cycle)

A CPU that can handle more instructions per clock can be faster then a higher clocked CPU (see the whole Athlon v Pentium debate).
