I need help configuring my ram timings and bios for mushkin xp3 12800 (996657) 4 gigs @ 1600. They currently run at 1333mhz but will not run stable at 1600, I've tried mushkin tech support, other forums and cannot for the life of me get these to work.
They are supposed to run at 7-7-7-20 timings, but I don't know if anyone knows the motherboard in specifics, and can instruct me as well as to what my settings should be in the bios, am i supposed to change the northbridge volt/settings as well?

Here are my specs:

Coolermaster Scout Case
MSI 790GX-G65 motherboard
AMD AM3 Phenom II 945 (3.0ghz x4)
Mushkin xp3 12800 (996657) 4 gigs (2gig per stick)
ATI Radeon HD 4890 1 gig gpu
Coolermaster Silent Pro 600W
Seagate Sata-3 320gig HD
Samsung P2770HD Monitor (27'' @ 1920x1080p)

Any help would be appreciated, Thank you in advance.

Usually, Mushkin RAM requires you to changed the VDimm voltage manually to 1.65 in order for it to be stable at 1600. Your motherboard might call it something different, but it's the voltage for the RAM itself.

yeah but what are your bios settings? cause i have everything on stock but the ram voltages on 1.92 and then i put the ratio at 1:4 to run at 1600, timings at 7-7-7-20
but it won't run stable, crashes out after a few minutes

after my post here i decided to play with my ram (mushkin 996657 ) and i came up with 1767 with 7 7 7 20 1.9625v prime stable id say your issue is not the ram unless you have a bad stick but thats unlikely. set your ram @1.95 v and im sure you will have success with 1600 7 7 7 20
1.95v 1600 7 7 7 20 is labled right on the sticker on your ram and mushkin tech told me the same as they told you 1.95v
