Help me to choose an option

Well Im upgrading by parts my desktop pc so first of all I need to say that im only buying three parts for now... Im thinking of save a few things of my old pc... I dont have much money to spend I got like $550 or $580 max

My actual pc have this parts:

- AMD Athlon 64 3500+ CPU
- MSI K9VGM-V Motherboard
- 2Gb DDR2 RAM (2x1Gb) Corsair Dual Channel 800 Mhz
- Hard Drive 260 GB
- 550W Power Supply
- all the other stuff like screen, the computer case, mouse, speakers, etc.

So the few things im thinking to save are the computer case, with 2 fans (2x 120mm), the hard drive, the power supply and the Graphic Card.
ok, i know my graphic card its a bit old and out of the leage but just look at my processor. HAHAHA
im thinking to buy anotherone at the end of current year or somethink like that.

Well I've been looking for the best Price/Performance CPU's, Motherboards, and DDR3 RAMs (so expensive)

I use my pc mostly for games, I do not make videos or stuff like that,

so here i got a few options:

Option 1: (AMD)

- Phenom II 1090T x6 Black Edition $300
- MSI 890FXA-GD70 Motherboard $200
- DDR3 RAM (help me here) $50-80

Option 2: (AMD) (cheaper)

- Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition $190
- MSI 890FXA-GD70 Motherboard $200
- DDR3 RAM (help me here) $110

Option 3: (Intel)

- i7 930 $300
- MSI X58 Pro-E Motherboard $200
- DDR3 RAM (help me here) $50-80

Feel free to say anything that can help me choosing the best options for me...
If im wrong in sthg please let me know

What do u think about future upgreadeability of the options above.
Overcloacking both? which one's better
Intel it's so expensive VS AMD
When I get more money I will change the PSU and the VGA

PD: I read a lot of benchmarks and reviews but im not that advanced in this stuff to OC one of those at 4.5 or something so plz understand that ill probably oc it just a lil bit.

  1. Frankly seeing your requirements and usage, I wouldn't go anything above this...

    Phenom X4 955 + Gigabyte 890GX
-> the 890FX do offer x16x16 and other additional features, but for a mainstream user, I dont think its worth the extra...

    CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

And if you want to overclock, an aftermarket cooler would be a very good add-on...And also it would keep the CPU cool...
    CM Hyper 212+
  2. Looking at what you are gonna do with your system...I agree with gkay09
BTW : What is your PSU?
