Intel i3-530 stock cooler good

Is the stock cooler on the intel i3-530 any good as I'd rather not have to buy a separate cooler but I will if the intel one is bad. I don't plan on overclocking the Processor

  1. If you don't plan on overclocking (or only bump it up a little bit) that stock Intel CPU cooler will work fine.
  2. Check out this article: Overclocking the i3 530 - 4GHz with the Stock Cooler

3.3GHz without any added voltage is a nice, safe overclock.
  3. its a good cooler but i heard its loud
  4. Depends alot on your room temp. Mine runs in the 50c plus range in the summer when overclocked at 3.67, so I run it at stock. If you want to spend $40 on a better cooler with bigger fan, then you can run the fan at lower rpms keeping the noise down.
  5. Thanks for all the replies, noise shouldn't be a problem as my current pc is pretty noisy
