Best way to update bios on a GA890-FXA-UD5 rev 2.1

on other boards I have used floppy , but no floppy on this build . Is it asking for trouble updating through windows . Also having a 1100t is it best to update to F6 with update to cool and quiet ?

I'd also like to add that your USB thumb drive needs to be formatted FAT to be seen by the BIOS for flashing. Not NTFS, not FAT32.

BTW, you should avoid flashing the BIOS from Windows if at all possible. A lot of sad stories with bricked motherboards...

Have not used a floppy in 10 years ! So i dl bios , load it on floppy , then i forget what to do . Getting old , memory fading . Do i just re-boot comp and wait for prompt or do i need to go into bios and do it from there . Memory is going , getting old !
and is it worth trying going from F-5 to F-6 just for cool and quiet ?
