I have a Sony Vaio PCG-FX250 that currently has 382 MB of RAM. Is it
worth it for me to do an upgrade to 512? I plan on using the computer
for editing films.

If running XP, yes, upgrade for film editing. If you're doing much of
it, updating to a faster, larger 5400/7200 rpm HD will pay off also.
