good dat Tom's. Ok so im gonna upgrade my cpu i guess. Going to be going from an athlon II X2 250 which i had oc'd to 3.8 but is now running at stock to a Phenom II X4 955 black edition which i can get for 174 cdn. not sure why i am doing this because everything i do my pc works great for, but i have the urge to update. i was going to get a new cpu and vid card but i wanna wait until the price of the 5850 or 5830 drops. since the new gtx 460 came out i suspect the 5830 will likly drop to 200 or less, since i seen the gtx 460 for 201 or something like for the 768mb card which preforms closely to it. Anyways to my main question. How much of a difference will the X4 make over the x2 with a 4850 vid card at 720p resolution or 1680 x 1050.

I assume your main priority is games. Which ones do you play?
As a general thumb rule, the 955 will give better min frame rates. An OCed 955 will definitely make a ton of difference, ie, increase the average fps drastically.
