Do you really need a $1,000 CPU? Don't need 2000MHZ RAM, can go well over 4ghz on 1600 RAM. These G SKill PI are great, but be aware not all HSF's fit on it. The CM Hyper 212 plus which I recommend you get, does fit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... HD wise you're better off with SPinpoint f3's $90 for 1TB. Or is fact, some SSD's. GPU, don't bother with factory OC GPU's You're paying them $50 to press 4 buttons for you in ATI Overdrive. PSU wise don't need anything that high. Grab a nice Seasonic 750W like this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Also, do you know what CUDA is, and do you need it? If so you'll have to go nVidia. | Report abuse Somebody_007 May 6, 2010 5:50:33 PM 1000w isn't really neccesary and get a higher quility brand like corsair. Can you give me a link to that ram? If you want to OC you need a heatsink. can you list prices aswell? Have you considered an SSD? | Report abuse Register or log in to remove Ask the community Publish Tom's Hardware>Forum>Systems>I7 980x based system help> Related ressources: ForumXeon vs verses I7 980x ForumLatest Ubuntu only recognized 8 cores on i7 980x ForumI7 980X Stable Overclock/Anti-Bottleneck - looking for advice ForumAsus Rampage III Extreme and I7 980x $3000 ForumI7 980x vs Sandy Bridge?
