Is there a software that can manually mark a sector bad on a NTFS drive? I have been having heat related Seek errors, and I can't afford a new drive.

Run chkdsk with the /f /r flags. The /r should have it locate and mark bad sectors. This takes a while on large drives.

1. open command prompt, possibly as administrator.
2. chkdsk c: /f /r
replace c: with your drive letter.
