I am building a new pc and to save some cash i am taking the HDD out of my external enclosure. It is in NTFS format, and I know that is the format needed. I plan on putting windows 7 on it.

Now the question is will I have to do any reformatting?
Or will i just simply be able to put in the windows 7 disk and install windows as normal?

Solution
Depends on whether or not you need the data that is on it. If you don't, my choice would be to let the installation process repartition and format the drive just the way it wants to. You will get a little hidden 100 MB partition at the start of the drive.
