I have installed 10 new HP Laser 1606dn printers at work, all installs were on Windows XP SP3 computers with a USB connection. The printer install went great on all the computers, but afterwards 2 of the computers will not load Windows at boot up unless I unplug the USB cable to the printer from the computer. Once I unplug it, windows loads with no problem. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! judithflanagan[at]wcps.org

Check Bios settings:
-see boot order
-try disabling USB Legacy support in the BIOS, depending if U need it or not.
-some have options like USB emulation that U can disable/enable.
-see other usb related options, depending on your bios.

Try updating the bios ( be very carefull ! ) go to the manufacturer's website, and see if there isn't a bios update (check version)
