Need help finding upgraded compatible CPU

Buddy of mine needs to upgrade (for gaming) what he's got to get by for now.

He has Dell XPS 410
Intel 1.86ghz
Dell Motherboard/ OWG 855
4GB DDR2
Nvidia 9500GT

Is there any CPU or anything that will fit this older machine to give it a gaming boost?
Would really appreciate input!

you can upgrade to a e6700 (must be 65nm)
and from the 9500gt to a 5670
