Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Thinkpad SL500 27464WM laptop computer. It's current processor is a T9400 series @ 2.53Ghz with 6MB L2 Cache. I was wondering if it is worth to upgrade the processor to a P series. Any recommendations?...

The T series was intended to be the faster of the two (model number for number), the P series was intended to provide a bit better battery life. The T9400 has a TDP of 35W, while the P series equivalent (in terms of speed/cache/FSB) is the P9500 which costs ~ 30 more and has a lower TDP of 25W which would result in better battery life, although speed-wise there'd be no difference. Also, I think the T9400 is embedded into your motherboard which means you wouldn't be able to change it.
