Hello,
A few years ago my husband had pop up on his Gateway solo 1450 updates needed. One of them was BIOS so he did it. While doing this the computer said "can not load" and shut itself off. Now we have a computer the runs fan goes everything yet nothing on the screen only black. I think I need to go back to an original BIOS. Is there anyway of doing this and where would I find a fix to get the original BIOS back. Thanks

Sounds like you need to change the CMOS battery first, or short-out the CMOS settings. Batteries only last about 2 years.

But if you need to go back to a previous version, you would need to boot from a disk and run the compatible BIOS update program (ie. get it from the website of Gateway, follow those instructions) for your motherboard model, and load the older BIOS version.
