480 SLI PSU? enough?

Is the kingwin Mach 1 1000w PSU enough to run 2xGTX 480 SLI?

For 1 480 it recomends 600wattt PSU. I have seen some indications that SLI 480s will only draw about 850 watts under peak.

Does the Kingwin have enough enough amps as well?

or 2 5870s in CF? I am not sure about ATI support (its been a while since I have owned an ATI card and before it was driver hell). If I choose ATI how is there driver support lately?

I hate being presurred to buy a product but I have to because my 280 took a dump and i put my other one into wifes rig!

More about enough
  1. well, it should be plenty for 2 x GTX480's as long as it can output its rated 80A on the 21v rails

2 x 5870, you could do that on a quality 650w PSU (750 is preferable), just remember to totally clean out the NV drivers before installing the ATI cards (if you go this way)
  2. I have such a headache! I have the 1000 bucks to throw down but I want to make a good decision. I already have the evga 480s on pre-order but I am also concerned about the heat and longevity of the cards and if I go with ATI I am concerned about the support because Nvidia has better industry support!

    Damn I hate making choices!

well, you can always wait to see how the heat holds up in a few months or when the AIB's (ie EVGA and others) make custom boards and coolers to cool it better

or the other solution is not care about the 10-15% performance difference and get the 5870's

and about support, what did you mean, drivers (if so, windows or linux)?
