How do you do a fresh install of WIN7 with only a "hidden partition"

Just barrow a Windows 7 Installation Disk, can be Upgrade, OEM, or full. Only stipulation is it must be the same version, ie if ultimate, then barrow a ultimate ver.

With OEM, or full version. do the install, But do not enter the Key during the install, wait untill after windows is installed.

With the upgrade version, you must first select custom instal to do a clean install. Again do NOT enter a key untill Install is complet - BUT must do two things first, a simple registy edit, and run a dos Cmd.

In Both the cases above, You USE the Key that is for YOUR laptop, NOT the key for the "barrowed" Disk

Once install is complet, vist the toshibia support for the drivers and or any software that is need. Just download and install. (I do this Before entering the Key and activating.).

A true geek has never been intimidated by the registry, but lets face it, it's a mess in there. To access the registry you will first need to open up the start menu and type "regedit" into the search field, followed by enter. To find the proverbial needle in this haystack, you will need to navigate through the tabs listed on the left in the following order:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE/ . If you don't like doing it the hard way just click Edit then Find and type MediaBootInstall into the search field, and press enter.

Once found, double click MediaBootInstall and change the "1" to a "0". Once you have finished this, simply click Ok and close out the Registry Editor.

AND THEN
Before we try to activate our copy of Windows, we need to reset or "Re-Arm" the activation sequence. To do this, simply open up the start menu and type cmd but instead of just pressing enter, you need to press "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "Enter" to run it as an administrator. You can also accomplish this by clicking the start menu, typing cmd into the search box, then right clicking the command prompt application and selecting Run as administrator.

Once the command prompt appears type slmgr /rearm and press enter. Next simply type Exit and hit enter again, after which it will ask you to restart your machine.

OR you may be able to just purchase the Toshibia Installation disk from Toshibia at REDUSE cost. - YOU alread paid for the Lic, you just need the disk. The disk is a dollar two-ninty-eight. They will OVER Charge, but shouldn't be over $15.

you need not do that, to migrate your OS to SSD is not a bad chocie, to acheaive this, you could use some third-party software, such as Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 2.0, Partition Assistant Home Edtition(freeware), Acronis Disk Director,

no matter which tool you select , change your disk mode from IDE to Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) is an important step. However, if you change IDE to AHCI in Bios directly after installed OS, you will find you could not boot into your system. This is also another reason why peoples suggest reinstall OS. Do not worry; we could change something else in our “regedit” to avoid this problem.
1)Run the Registry Editor (regedit.exe)
2) Navigate to the location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci
3) Set the "Start" value to 0 (zero)
4) Restart computer go into the BIOS-> configuration->change the disk mode to "AHCI" (IDE is set as default commonly ) . Save the new BIOS configuration and restart so that Windows boots.
When Windows starts, it will detect the change, load new disk drivers, and does one more reboot to start up with them.
5) Install the latest driver of your motherboard.
Note: This method only works in Windows 7, Windows XP could not support.
If your CPU is based on AMD platform, you need to do another step, download the “AMD RAIDXpert” from AMD official website, then log in it and turn on NCQ mode. This is important.
If your CPU is based on Intel platform, you need no to do this, the NCQ mode is turned on autonomic when you change ide to ahci and install the latest driver of motherboard.

Jst thats what i origially dis with "ACRONIS" & like u say...it works!
Since doing Fresh Instal With an old Insallation disk as the clone may not of had it aligned?? anyways I've just been up all nite trin to find DVD.. then all the DRIVERS + Progs.. etc I've got it all working well!!!
The only thing from "Cloning" my WEI was 7.0-7.4max After "Fresh Install" its NOW 7.9!!!

what happened to the recovery disk you were supposed to make? why cant you just buy a copy?
