Sony consumer 5MP digital cameras a little tricky to use?

Hi there,

It could be me, but I find trying to use the DSC-V1 in manual (so I can
control depth of field, and exposure to an extent) to be very difficult.
I mean, it could be that I don't know what the heck I'm doing, but I
can't seem to make any good settings on my camera to get great shots.

Does anyone here have any websites specific on on using the
DSC-V1/T1/etc..? or is anyone here an expert on that camera?
