APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next week

BUDGET RANGE: 800-1000 after rebates

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg

PARTS PREFERENCES: Intel Processor, as for other components I’d prefer companies with respectable reputations such as ASUS or WD

OVERCLOCKING: Slight? I’m not looking to go past anything but aircooled.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1440x900

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Firstly thanks for the once over and help, it’s very much appreciated. I’m putting this together as a medium budget gaming PC, nothing too fancy. I’m completely satisfied with running most games on medium settings with a decent framerate.

HDD – WD 1TB 7,200 RPM: I’ve heard that this does not make a good boot disk, are there any suggestions for a replacement?

I’m not quite sure on the case, I was searching the forums and found some decent suggestions within the stickies. From my best estimation these components should be compatible, but I cannot speak to their efficiency when working in tandem (ie. Bottlenecks due to a slow component). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks very much and I’m awaiting any feedback with baited breathe.

Yep, that video card is overkill for your monitor. I tried to squeeze in a monitor:
