When I turn on my old Kodak DC215 (with fully charged batteries) the
pilot light stays red and the message display is just a "c0" in the
upper right hand corner.

I've swapped in a known good memory card to no avail.

Is the message telling me my camera is toast, or is there something I
can do about it without spending any money on this old clunker?

Thanks guys,

Jeff

Greetings Jeff,

Sorry to hear about the issue, actually, the c0 error indicates that the
camera's firmware has somehow become corrupt. The resolution would be to
update the camera's firmware. The latest firmware version can be found at:

www.kodak.com/go/dc215

On that page will be links for downloads. When you reach the download page,
scroll to the bottom and review what is available. There is data there about
how to get the files and also to get them into the camera. Make sure you
have a full power supply. Sometimes if your power runs out while performing
an update to firmware etc., you can run into this problem.

Good luck Jeff, let me know if you think I can help.

Thanks much Ron. I did just what you suggested; downloaded and reloaded
the firmware. Presto, all seems well again. Wisn I could repair my car
as easily. <G>

Thanks again and Happy Holidays,

Jeff
