Hey guys, I would be thrilled if someone could solve this problem. I just installed an MSI K9A2 platinum motherboard with a Radeon HD 5750 videocard. For referance, let me say that this mobo has 4 PCI-E x16 2.0 Slots, two of which run 8x, I am also using an ocz gamexstream 600w psu. Anyways I installed the video card in one of the 8x slots and the computer works fine; however, when I put the video card in the 16x slot the computer would turn on for a split second then turn off right away. I put in my old and loud 700w rocketfish psu and it works.... Whats up with that?

MSI K9A2 platinum, AMD 64 X2 5600+ 2.8ghz, 4x1gb DDR2 PC6400, Radeon HD 5750, Soundblaster X-Fi Xtremegamer, DVD-R/W, and SATA2 160gb. two fans and stock cpu cooling. 600w should be fine?!

That rig should draw a LOT less than 600w. There's something wrong with that. It's possible that the PSU has something wrong with it (or is just poorly made), and isn't putting out it's rated power.

I doubt it is your motherboard if it is working fine with the rocketfish PSU and not working right with the OCZ. Looks like the OCZ has issues and needs to be replaced.

The psu is the problem. use your old one or buy a 80+ efficient psu.

Yea pick up a corsair or seasonic. The seasonic 620w is a pretty good PSU and is 80+ bronze certified.

I've had excellent luck with Corsair units; had 2 of 'em now. Seasonics are nice, as well as the newer Antecs.

Yeah, deffinatly going to get a seasonic or corsair now. Going to need something strong enough to handle two 5750's later on...
