The only way to get it down to $800 is to knock off $126 obviously. The only way to do that is to move down to a $100 CPU, a 5750, a 450-500W PSU, and a cheaper case. The system requirements for SC2 are pretty light from what I remember, so you could probably still do this and still play at high settings. Not sure the 5750 will handle "highest" settings at 1080, but it will probably still look good.

Yes that case is fine. I still recommend the F3 for your HDD, will save you a bit as well. I liked the first set of RAM that you chose with CL7 better. Remember that even though you have a crossfire motherboard, if you use the 500W PSU that comes with the 200, you won't be able to add another 5770 (since you said maybe to crossfire). If you want to drop the crossfire mobo, look at the 785G chipset instead.

So if i don't plan on overclocking or cross fire, would it be wise to change the video card and the mobo.. so right now im looking at

AMD Phenom II X4 955 -$170
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 500gb -$54
Sapphire Radeon HD 5850- $300
Sony CD/DVD Writer- $22
window 7 OS- $100
CM 690- $69
Antec Earthwatts 650W - $76

total 791 w/o mobo and ram

can you recommend me a mobo and ram that can go with this rig?

^ It's not ideal... It's an AM2+ board, so you'll need DDR2 and I wouldn't recommend that for a new build. Also just in case you didn't see it's m-ATX.
