Mistakenly quick formatted my external...now its gone

I quick formatted my seagate freeagent 1.5 terabyte external drive by mistake and now i cannot locate it in My Computer...tried system restore and got nothing....what should i do now

Don't do anything else with that drive or you might overwrite data. try using this to recove the partition.

thank you for the quick response, however the software did not detect the drive to recover it

Go into disk management and see if it's viewable there. If it is, try assigning it a drive letter after which it should show up under my computer.

i tried that also and it isnt detected in the management console...here is exactly what happened. I had an external hard drive that i took out of the case and placed into my actual tower...i have been using it without issue until i mistakenly clicked quick format. while formatting it says that format could not be completed, and since then i cannot locate it whatsoever

Have you tried putting back in the enclosure? Why did you take it out of the enclosure? Was it giving you problems? If so, it may just be the drive died.
