Amd pII 925 vs amd 445x3

I am building a gaming pc and due to my budget i'm trying to get one of these.
Which would be better?
Also,

My recent plan is to buy the amd x3 445 and see if it gets unlocked. If it doesn't i will return it??
Would i get a full refund from newegg?

The PhII 925 would be a better gaming chip due to the X3 445 lacking L3 cache.

newegg will only let you return it for replacement, if you are just going to return it if you cant unlock it to a quad dont get it int he first place. Get what you want, dont rely on unlocking to get you a quad if you think you will need a quad, its not guarenteed, its only about 50-50.

The 925 and the 445 would both do similarly in gaming, at higher resolutions neither of them should be imposing a limit on the GPU.
