I have signed up on neweggs email alert for all the evga cards when they become available. Unfortunately I have not received any email alerts. I work at a computer all day and I keep checking there site just to see if they are available. I checked it today, and 3 people have purchased cards. It says in there review "This user purchased this item from Newegg"..????

I was wondering if anyone knows how this is happening, maybe a customer or administrator on tomshardware has some insite on this matter. I just don't feel it is fair, considering I have had no email alerts, and it says cards are sold on a "first come first serve basis". I keep checking other sites like amazon and evga, but I am worried If I preorder throuh amazon or zipflyzoom or whatever, that if there stock runs out to fast I'll be stuck waiting. Anyways anyone have any idea's on how these people got these cards before everyone else? Especially considering they said they were coming out on the 12th?

I would consider that more advertising than selling. They are all 5 eggs and only one complaint about being hot?

Wait and see how long that SLI solution lasts.

Did you read the reviews? One guy says he is waiting on his and that review is from today. The other two are from yesterday and they are talking like they have the cards when expected delivery date is the official release to resellers on 4/12.
I call those reviews BS.

Well it's not like someone who is skeptic or hates the card was going to wait every second on the day to get one. I'm sure all the 5870's release reviews were "perfect card omfg i will die"

Ok so they are poor so they risk buying a 500$ card and hope to sell it for 200 over it's worth, they make a profit and they are both poor and idiots? I have to greatly disagree...

A fool and his money are soon parted. So either the fool is the one buying the card hoping to Ebay for profit, or he is right, and the fool is the one buying the card over Ebay for a greatly exaggerated price.

Resellers are ethically questionable, but capitalism doesn't care about ethics. C'est La Vie.

U can count on me. I haven't sold my 5870 just incase this card didn't perform:) but if this card doesn't perform I might sell the 5870 anyways to grab the xfx 5970 black edition with 4 gigs gddr

" As some of our astute forum readers have noticed, NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 400 series have started showing up early. Officially they have been and are still scheduled for a full retail launch next week, but for the past few days a few of them have been showing up in small batches at etailers.

We shot off a quick question to NVIDIA about the matter and got a response last night. The gist of the matter is that NVIDIA started shipping the first retail GTX 400 boards to their partners last Saturday, which means that those partners with a fast turnaround time in boxing and air shipping have already managed to get them in to etailers’ hands. NVIDIA isn’t enforcing a hard launch date here, so everyone is allowed to sell their cards as soon as they can."
