Testing of a Samsung TS L632 DVD RW off o motherboard

Good afternoon.
I recently removed a Samsung TS L632 DVD RW from a fried Dell inspiron 1420. Is there a method , eg through an adapter by name, which I can test the Dvd player without plugging it onto a motherboard. The input is not a standard Ide or Sata fitting.

Your drive has an ide connector.

You should be able to pick up a cable / PCB with the correct connectors.
