Windows XP restore

I have been given a HP tower with Windows XP and want to set it back to factory settings. There is an administrators password for users that I do not know. It belonged to some oil field company. How do I reset it. Do I need a disk and if so how do I wipe hard drive. It will not let me do anything.

It might have a Factory Recovery partition on the hard drive which you should be able to invoke by pressing a specific key at boot time.

You should be able to find out more about that on the HP website under "Support".
