Which CPU is better?

sup guys, im looking to change mobo, case, and cpu. first i was looking at the amd phenom ii x4 955, but then i saw that i could save some money with the amd phenom ii x3. But then i saw it had a lower score than my current processor( intel core 2 duo E7400 OC'd to 3.3 Ghz) according to anandtech.

so which one would u reccomend, the phenom ii x3, or the phenom ii x4 955. i think i can afford the phenom x4 processor, but it would be nice if i could save some extra money, haha.

so the phenom ii x3 is worthed or not?? another thing, first i was an intel nvidia fanboy, but everything was too expensive, so this time i went for ATI because of the low prices.

im looking to do this because im upgrading to a crossfirex mobo, so later i can put another hd 5850 in it. will my core 2 duo e7400 cause any bottleneck to my hd 5850 or 2 of them?? if not, i better stay with it, haha. his score isnt that bad, and it is OC'd, so it should had a better score.

Thx guys, any comment would be appreciated.

i think the e7400 can run a 5850, but not two, i would suggest the 955, because the x3 is kind of pointless as the x4s have become so cheap
  2. Neither are a massive step up from your current CPU tbh.
  3. If you live near a Microcenter, you can get a Q9550 for $180, or a Q9300 for $140.
  4. thx for answers guys, i think i will buy the amd phenom II x4 955 BE, seems to be the best choice, and i saw in harwarecanucks that is very close to the i7 extreme 965 i think, so thanks for posting guys
