Hi guys,

I was wondering, if I format the HDD, delete all partitions and do a clean install of Windows 7, can I then create a new partition afterwards when I come to install Linux (alongside Windows 7), or do I need to create a new partition before installing Windows 7?

All I want to do is be able to have 2 operating systems on my PC.

Yes, you can, and you could install windows 7 first, after installing windows 7, you could use windows build-in Disk Management to release an unallocated space which you large enough to contain Linux and then reboot from Linux installation disc, during setup you could manually create an linux partition or you could learn how to create partition in windows 7 to create a ext4 partition: http://www.partition-magic-windows7.com/res/create-part...
