Hi guys, I'm looking into building my first comp.

Purpose: Coursework, some gaming (hopefully at least @ high settings), movie editing (not a lot).
First of all, my budget is ~$800-$900 (U.S. location) and
I will be buying all of my parts from Newegg (Maybe Petra's for fans).
Here it is:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB
RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600
Mobo: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD
Case: Antec 300 Illusion
PSU: Antec EarthWatts 650W
Heatsink: KINGWIN XT-1264 120mm
Case Fan: Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F (1)
HDD: WD Caviar Black 640GB Optical: ASUS DRW-24B1ST
•[strike]OS[/strike]: Buy Later @ Discount

-Will this fit my needs? (The Video card doesn't have rave reviews for some reason, anyone can explain?)
-Are the parts compatible (Can someone verify?)
-Will the heatsink be sufficient?

If you guys have any recommendations, I'd appreciate it. Thanks :pt1cable:

the video card is an XFX not an XDX..
its pretty decent, considering their pretty decent warranty.

Id say save $ and get a identical C3 955 for the CPU, A Hyper 212+ just because its ~$3 bucks cheaper.

Will you crossfire? If yes, get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157191

Then stick with this, USB3.0 for the cheap.

Hah typo :na: , I'm considering the 5770 Vapor by Sapphire now
I do not plan for Crossfire/SLI
I chose the Kingwin cause of reviews and threads from frosty
Thanks for the input!!

I'll will choose the Spinpoint F3 500GB then! Thanks a lot for your help

For budget purposes, you guys think it will be alright if I degrade to a Antec Continuous 550w?
Min requirement for the 5770 is 500w so it's a bit close...

the 5770 uses barely 400W, the 530W would still have plenty of headroom.

Thanks a lot, that puts my concerns to a halt. I appreciate it Timop
About the Vapor, I've seen benchmarks of it and it seems to perform a tad better than the original 5770, but who knows..
I will consider the Asus one and take a look. Tyvm again
