# of case fan connector to motherboard? Asrock Extreme 4

Hi, guys, I have raven 02 case and asrock extreme 4 p67 motherboard.


This is my 1st time building a computer.


Raven case has 4 case fans with 4 connectors.

P67 Extreme 4 motherboard...I think i only saw 1 or 2 case fan port.

How am I supposed to connect 4 case fans if there are only 1~2 ports?

Are other motherboards like this too?

Yes there are other boards like that too! It is common practice to power case fans directly from the PSU using molex adapters if more fans than Motherboard has connectors for!

My case fan has the small cable with 3~4 pins (not sure if it was 3 or 4).
Isn't molex adapter the huge!!! holes that are like several times larger than case fan cable?

Your case fans should have come with the adapters for Molex connections. If they didn't, then you need to buy them.

Most boards only have one or two case fan connectors, and most cases have more than two fans. It's better to keep the number of fans connected to the board to a minimum, especially when overclocking. I won't ever power a case fan from the mainboard -- they all get Molexes in my cases.
