I have a Dell Inspiron 3500. The hinge broke, and since then the wires
have also separated.

Any ideas on the cost for such a repair?
Second, other than Dell, where could this be repaired?
Thanks
Mahl

The parts to repair a laptop with bad hinges often cost in the range of
$80 to $100 (2 new hinges and usually a new plastic "lid" ), and more if
the cable to the LCD has been damaged (some of these cables are over
$100, but others are only $30 or so). Repair time varies, but an hour
is a good estimate. That's going to put the repair up in the range of
$200 or more if done by a real service shop.
