Maxtor 1TB Basics Problem not recognized

when try to connect the Hard Drive ....nothing is hapening....

connect a power cord to the hard disk. connect the sata data cable to the motherboard. if it is not detected by the bios, try a different sata plug on the motherboard. check bios settings to verify the sata is enabled. if still not detected, replace the hard disk.
